What will you do?

A day in the life of a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications at Vans looks a little like this.

You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance our corporate brand, engage stakeholders, and effectively convey our mission and values. You will play a critical role in managing internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with our business goals. You will lead the daily operations of Vans’ global corporate communications, engaging employees across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA regions, as well as within VF.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Develop and implement communication strategies that support corporate objectives and enhance brand reputation.

  • Create compelling content for various channels, including press releases, executive communications, athlete communications, speeches, linkedin posts, and internal newsletters (Vans & VF).

  • Build and maintain relationships with key business and trade media contacts; manage press outreach and media inquiries to secure positive coverage.

  • Sit on VF Corporation’s Communications Council & Leadership team, both of which look to partner and provide counsel/corporate communications guidance to sister brands across the VF portfolio on a variety of topics.

  • Lead crisis communication efforts, developing strategies to protect and manage the company’s reputation during challenging situations proactively and reactively as well as manage external agency partners.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all communications; engage with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of transparency.

  • Oversee the company's Linkedin presence, developing strategies to enhance engagement and monitor public sentiment.

  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on best practices in corporate communications and professional development.

  • Play an integral role in the storytelling of the brand’s global business transformation to internal and external stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 7+ years of experience and professional achievements.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a similar role, with a proven track record of managing communications strategies in a corporate environment.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor messages for different audiences.

  • Strong understanding of media relations and crisis management principles.

  • Experience with digital communication platforms.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Hiring Range :

$112,320.00 USD - $140,400.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
