HP Inc. Business Insights Manager in Corvallis, Oregon

The Insights manager will work hand in hand with our business leaders to deliver breakthrough insights that inform our hardware, solutions and services portfolio. This will include foundational customer needs framework and continuous product and concept development work. The Insights manager will champion the voice of the customer within the business and drive change and consensus among business leadership. They will also partner with our global marketing and sales leaders to design customer centric go-to-market and positioning frameworks, that help our winning portfolio shine at the right place, at the right time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspire business leaders to take action that is customer centric and customer first

  • Design, execute, and deliver key primary research programs - both qualitative and quantitative

  • Translate data and key findings into insights that drive product strategy and innovation opportunities

  • Challenge external partners to bring forward innovative ways of generating and using insights (e.g. processes, cross-collaboration research, methodologies)

  • Partner with business leaders to develop a research/insights plan which includes a mix of agile and rigor-based research methods

  • Seek out opportunities and emerging trends to proactively provide business marketers and product development with critical information and insights.

  • Monitor market and industry trends, and share best practices with internal clients and external partners

  • Collaborate with other data organizations to connect the dots and reveal a 360-degree view of customer needs and behaviors

  • Provide relevant insights to improve campaign briefing and facilitate more valuable, differentiated marketing for consumer and office customer.

  • Provide competitive insights, intelligence and recommendations to influence go-to-market planning and strategic marketing plan development and decisions.

  • Manage a robust network of diverse research vendors

  • Provide training and guidance for other researchers and competitive intelligence professionals.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Foundational, expert knowledge of market research methodologies - both qualitative and quantitative

  • Inspiring communicator who integrates the intricacies of multiple data points/sources into a powerful story

  • Proven track record with managing research projects that reflect business priorities and link to short and long term goals

  • Able to capture, analyze and drive understanding of the current and emerging customer/market trends impacting the business and industry

  • Demonstrates strong project management skills to deliver projects on time and on budget

  • Sets objective measures of success for self and project teams and continuously evaluates progress against objectives

  • Demonstrates curiosity and growth mindset , through on-going adoption of best practices

  • Knowledge of market research vendor management, agency practices and conflict-resolution skills

  • Unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories and techniques.

  • Solid understanding of product management and marketing principles

  • Ability to interface with senior executives

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA in business, marketing, research, or equivalent experience; Master's level preferred.

  • 5+ years work experience executing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies that drove business results

The base pay range for this role is $102,500 to $157,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
