MARY MCLEOD BETHUNE General Office Clerk (Corpus Christi, Tx) in Corpus Christi, Texas

  • Maintain and file all necessary children's enrollment records.
  • Updates children's enrollment forms annually of sooner if needed.
  • Must have people skills and be able to assist parents in obtaining outside resources.
  • Prepares all reports related to the enrollment of children in care and be able to work with all staff which includes the Texas Rising Star criteria (TRS).

Responsibilities

  • Screen applications for enrollment and provide tours to prospective parents.
  • Process applications for child care including:
  1. Process applications for scholarships to obtain approval from the Executive Director.
  2. Place children in classrooms and supply information for teachers before each child starts.
  3. Set starting dates
  4. Provide orientation to parents.
  • Maintain records of all children including starting dates, termination dates, termination dates and vacations.
  • Informs Executive Director and Office Manager of enrollment dates and classroom numbers on a weekly basis.
  • Works with Office Manager on matters concerning parent fees, classifications or any certification changes affecting billing and scholarships.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned bythe Office Manager or Executive Director in the best interest of the agency.
  • Maintains monthly attendance records and works with Bookkeeper.
  • Performs monthly Work Force billing/places approved Advance Child Care Food Program food orders.
  • Maintains report of shelter parents employment, etc.
  • Interfaces with Work Force regarding children's files/information.
  • Is assistant to the Office Manager in her absence.

Requirements

  • Possess clerical skills, be proficient with computer and have strong organization skills.
  • Be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to assist as needed as lead in office area in the absence of the Office Manager.
  • Must be sensitive to the needs of children and their parents.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must clear a State Criminal Background Check
  • Must have 6 months of clerical experience
  • Must be 18 years of age
