Amentum Egress/ALSS Manager in Corpus Christi, Texas

The ALSS/Egress Division Manager is directly responsible to the Site Manager for setting priorities for the long-term maintenance effort of the aircraft and equipment assigned to the ALSS/Egress Division . They will work alongside the T6 Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Control Supervisors to ensure daily operations are coordinated between all maintenance departments to meet contract requirements, ensuring all customer and company policies are complied with.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage all aspects of ALSS/Egress maintenance and repair on/off aircraft, and ensure all work is scheduled and performed in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Supervise maintenance staff, which includes reviewing employee performance, addressing personnel issues, generating assignments, and setting priorities.

  • Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance as allowed per the CBA when situations dictate.

  • Review work orders regarding modifications and/or upgrades to various aircraft systems.

  • Manage all maintenance aspects for Egress and ALSS.

  • Supervise ALSS Technicians performing conditional, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on aircrew life survival systems, seat survival kits and parachutes as required on the T-6B aircraft.

  • Supervise Egress Technicians, performing conditional, scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on ejection seats, canopy, emergency oxygen systems, and corrosion control as required on the T-6B aircraft.

  • Perform routine program inspections of flight gear, utilizing Computerized Self Evaluation Checklist (CSEC) ensuring accuracy within the program.

  • Manage or oversee the management of all division related NAMP programs.

  • Manage access and training within VFS/Trace CAD/PAD ensuring accurate logbook practices.

  • Qualify as a Quality Assurance Safety Observer (QASO) and Board Member.

  • Ensure accurate documentation processes are followed within NALCOMIS to ensure ALSS, seat components, and ordnance log sets reflect accurate information including tasks, expiration dates, open dates, installed dates, manufacture dates, lot numbers, and part numbers.

  • Maintain ordnance training jackets for all ordnance certified employees, ensuring certifications are current and training is properly documented.

  • Read and interpret manufacturers and company’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

  • Provide guidance and instruction to team members concerning technical orders, checklists, and hazardous materials.

  • Responsible for maintaining equipment maintenance schedules on all company assets and monitoring parts and supply inventories.

  • Ensure availability of materials, anticipating requirements and reordering.

  • Offer technical guidance to engineering staff regarding start-up of new equipment and follow-up of maintenance programs.

  • Provide employees with proper training on company equipment as required by OSHA Regulations and monitors annual training requirements.

  • May supervise and assist in aircraft/equipment movement.

  • May conduct flight line and hangar foreign object damage prevention walks and housekeeping.

  • May meet with Customers and Company Senior Leadership as required.

  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to supervise a team.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate maintenance work requirements, direct supervisors, mechanics, and technicians in the daily performance of their duties.

  • In-depth knowledge of flight line operations, aircraft/vehicle movement, and safety/hazards.

  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft common and special tools and test equipment, aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications and schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications.

  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft corrosion detection and treatment.

  • Knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and company safety requirements.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management skills.

  • Competent in the use of a computer, to include Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Experience & Education

  • High School Education or equivalent.

  • Must have four (4) years’ experience in work directly related to Aircraft Egress and Canopy Fracturing Systems

  • Completion of Navy AME "A" school (completion of Navy PR “A” school may be considered for otherwise highly qualified candidates at the hiring managers discretion).

  • Must have a working knowledge of Aircraft Egress Systems and applicable explosive devices.

  • Mus have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any company/government required qualification, certification, licensing, or security clearance.

  • Must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule.

Physical Requirements

  • CONUS assignments typically in normal office and outdoors flight line environment.

  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day.

  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.

  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.

  • Ability to travel domestically.

Preferred

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in an aviation maintenance supervisory position.

  • Ten (10) or more years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environment.

  • May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Previously certified Safe for Flight

  • Advanced knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 (series) Maintenance Programs (preferred).

  • Advanced Knowledge of NALCOMIS/OOMA Work Oder process and procedures
