Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is looking to hire a driven Aviation Engineering Program Manager to provide onsite managerial and technical support for the Army Futures Command and the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Division (AMED) in Corpus Christi, Texas . The Army’s AMED allows its engineers and analysts to gain experience in various programs, including Research and development, Fielding and implementation, and Sustainment Engineering programs supporting the DoD Aerospace Industry. In addition, HII engineers and analysts set the standard of professional and ethical conduct and participate in diverse professional development opportunities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.

  • Review the status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports. Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and intervening and solving problems with project managers, line managers, and clients.

  • Manage direct reports, including labor planning (including assigning personnel to projects), financial budgets, tasking, and oversight of staff in one performing training curriculum analysis, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Responsible for ensuring project work products and deliverables are developed in accordance with organizational standard processes.

  • Establish and support program and organizational objectives.

  • Facilitate and reinforce successful project execution.

  • Work closely and collaboratively and communicate effectively with all project team members, including government and contractors.

  • In addition to managerial duties, provide expert advice, analysis, research, and technical guidance related to aviation maintenance engineering solutions for US Army rotary or uncrewed aircraft systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years relevant, progressive experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 2 years relevant, progressive experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience

  • Must have experience performing cost estimates associated with Level of Effort (LOE), scope of work, and related requirements.

  • Must have experience managing multiple technical instructions and completing projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.

  • Experience working with DoD customers, projects, and processes.

  • Proficient in managing Government Contracts and leading a team of detailed technical substantiation analyses, reports, and briefings.

  • Knowledge and experience applying analytical skills to support and evaluate engineering dispositions, policies, plans, procedures, and technical requirements.

  • Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical reports.

  • Possess strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Competence in MS Office and related software/programs.

  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • 20 years relevant, progressive experience with a High School Diploma; 17 years relevant, progressive experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 15 years relevant, progressive experience with a Master’s degree.

  • Possess an active Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Military Aviation Depot, Intermediate, or Organizational Level maintenance repair experience.

  • Security Clearance: Possess an active Department of Defense Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements

Office and industrial environment. Lifting and moving materials to stay within the guidelines for a one-person lift.
