Amentum Aircraft Life Support Tech-Mech (Union) in Corpus Christi, Texas
The successful ALSS Technician troubleshoots, repairs, maintains, and performs organizational level calendar inspections on aviator’s personal survival equipment and aircraft installed safety / survival equipment in accordance with applicable manuals, publications, and instructions.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare survey documentation for lost equipment and QDR documentation for applicable equipment.
Issue and receives aircrew survival equipment.
Initiate and update check out / return records.
Assemble, place in service, and perform calendar inspections on oxygen mask, helmets, torso harness, G-suits, and other related safety / survival equipment.
Rig, fit, modify, and repair aviator’s personal survival equipment.
Adjust, maintain, and perform minor repairs using sewing machine.
Repair personal survival equipment as needed.
Turn in supply request for survival equipment and supplies.
Identify and treat corrosion.
Complete applicable maintenance forms.
Brief and debrief flight personnel on proper use, wearing, and preflight of survival equipment.
Comply with FOD, Hazardous waste, Egress Familiarization, and tool control programs.
Comply with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
Assist as directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of government/company owned equipment.
Furnish own hand tools.
Prepare equipment inspection requirement list as needed.
Coordinate with customer, Cognizant Field Activity (CFA) and Management regarding repair and or modification of ALSS equipment.
Provide technical assistance and guidance as required.
Perform collateral duty inspection assignments as required.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Satisfactory completion of U.S. Navy Aircrew Survival Equipment man "A" school or other military, civilian or manufacturer schools with an equivalent curriculum.
Five (5) or more years’ experience in aviator’s personal survival equipment and aircraft installed safety/survival equipment maintenance.
Must be able obtain/maintain any company/government required qualification, certification, licensing, or security clearance.
Possess a thorough knowledge of NAMP CNAF 4790.2, NAVAIR 11-110-1, 13-1-6 series manuals and other applicable maintenance / technical manuals.
Thorough knowledge of aircrew survival equipment and applicable explosive devices, and the ability to obtain an Ordnance Handlers Certificate.
Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and working in uncomfortable positions.
Required lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Will be required to wear protective clothing and other safety equipment.
Will be required to work with hazardous materials.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to work all assigned shifts & schedules.
Preferred Qualification Other Responsibilities:
May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail.
