Hilton Director of Reservations and Experiences - Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, California

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Director of Reservations and Experiences to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation (https://www.costar.com/article/749120602/blackstone-completes-400-million-expansion-at-iconic-san-diego-hotel) and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms ( to include cottages and villas ), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

W hat will I be doing?

The Director of Reservations & Experiences manages the in-house reservations department including but not limited to the selling of guest rooms while accommodating guest needs for experiences on property, and all related operations to achieve the highest standards of guest satisfaction and financial profitability. The areas of responsibility include reservations, fitness, pool, beach, and children's programming, effectively develops and delivers year-long programs that exceed guest and member needs

Position Summary:

  • Manages and coordinates all aspects of the group inventory management process using appropriate systems including, but not limited to, OnQ, etc.
  • Ensure all new, revised and cancelled room convention room blocks are entered accurately and timely into RMS
  • Complete daily review of RMS group pick-up report to monitor cut-off dates and group availability
  • Conduct daily inventory controls to release rooms, extend cut-offs and adjusts availability as determined in sales contracts, group pick-up meetings, or as determined by Revenue Management.
  • Communicates with Sales and Revenue Management teams to ensure consistency and efficiency in group inventory management
  • Works with meeting planners and Sales/Service team in providing appropriate feedback concerning groups
  • Monitors group resumes to ensure that all information is applied properly
  • Serves as liaison with local reservations desk as HRCC to ensure efficient workflow, excellent customer service and communication on all aspects of the reservations booking process. Provides all pertinent information and instructions regarding hotel.
  • Lead and direct all Recreation operations to include, but not limited to, guest service, food and beverage selection/quality, merchandising and marketing, inventory management and cost controls, outlet reservations, systems use and management, budget and forecasting, report generation and department management.
  • Plan, organize and director the operations of sports and fitness programs, activities and services
  • Oversee and direct the coordination, promotion and facilitation of all activities, programs and events for Recreation operations (I.E. tennis tournaments, pool and water activities and contests, children's programs. etc.)
  • Communicate with community members and research various sport and recreation programs
  • Ensure that a variety of sport, recreation and cultural programs are planned and implemented, and over time evaluate the effectiveness of these programs and identify future needs

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120, 0000 based on applicable experience
