ARAMARK Catering Bartender and Food Server in Corning, New York

Job Description

As The Catering Bartender and Food Server, you will become the master of providing high-quality service to guests in multiple areas of formal catering events. Surrounded by passionate teammates and leaders, you'll help take our events to the next level by serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to our guests, while also mastering serving and event facilitation when needed. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position ranges from $16.00 to $19.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Greets guests and takes orders, processes cash and credit card transactions

  • Adheres to cash handling policies

  • Mixes and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing servers drinks from the service well as needed

  • Adheres to all established alcohol service policies and safe drinking guidelines including checking patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption

  • Serve food and beverages to guests during the event, replenishing as needed and ensuring a positive event experience for all guests.

  • Have knowledge about menu items and be able to respond to guest questions and requests.

  • Maintain appearance and cleanliness of work areas during events and adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Sets up and breaks down workstations, including cleaning and sanitizing

  • Takes inventory counts and ensures product is stocked to appropriate levels

  • Provides excellent guest service, anticipating guests' needs and ensuring guest satisfaction

  • Maintains a professional and positive demeanor towards guests, clients, co-workers, etc.

  • Ensures security of company assets

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bartender and/or catering preferred

  • Knowledge of bartending principles and recipes and current trends

  • Able to obtain all Aramark and state/local required Alcohol Service and Food Handling certifications

  • Displays phenomenal hospitality, friendliness, and comprehensive beverage knowledge.

  • Demonstrates organizational & multi-tasking skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lb

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced fun work environment

  • Must follow the required dress code as assigned

  • Ideal candidate will be available to work event-based hours that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Must have reliable transportation to event locations
