Job Description Summary
As the Operational Site Engineer you will be a key member of the Engineering Operational Value stream Team and hold responsibility for technical decision making on shift. The Operational systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all systems perform predictably and continue to operate as required in order to support the manufacturing process. Ensuring that all systems, GMP and non-GMP, conform to relevant regulatory requirements as well as company specifications and requirements. The incumbent will also support Manufacturing in the implementation of process improvements and enhancements.
Working in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, you must ensure that the quality of the product produced meets all the established guidelines and expectations. In parallel, you will monitor, record and track production; working closely with the operational department leadership team to ensure that schedules are met, record keeping and reporting is accurate, and timely communication is given to all stakeholders through the Lean Daily Management System (LDMS).
Job Description
ORGANISATION POSITIONING:
Your report to: Operational Value stream Leader
This role will be crucial in coordinating the various departments and functions that support the Value Stream, and will maintain a strong dotted line relationship with the Operational PTLs
Principal qualifications/skills and work experience required:
Relevant Engineering or science Degree.
Strong professional experience working within a GMP environment in a process or equipment engineering role.
Experience in all aspects of utilities and production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work on own initiative & judgement with minimal supervision.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver operational engineering support to the site with a safety first mindset.
Drive OEE optimisation on site to increase output.
Take a specialist approach to maintenance and fault-finding issues.
Help improve equipment reliability through strategic Preventative and Predictive Maintenance plans.
Technician Lead & decision maker on Shift.
Lead the cross training of maintenance technician.
Assist with the creation of new standard works associated with line set ups & change overs.
Support development & coaching for graduates & Technicians.
Analysis Unplanned down time data & carry out improvements through reliability programme.
Lead maintenance related RCA’s.
Provide support to project implementation i.e. commissioning.
Assist in the setting up of project to maintenance handovers and the integration of such into maintenance systems.
Act as delegate for Engineering System Team Lead.
Assist in the measurement and tracking of maintenance KPI’s.
Lead SME function, supporting & leading safety/quality investigations & CAPA implementation.
Attend relevant platform daily meetings, Leading the Engineering Technical support communications.
Ensuring the preventive maintenance schedule for their system is successfully implemented.
Participate as a key figure within the Reliability program, completion of aging asset life cycle & criticality assessment, review of current preventive maintenance program & complete asset spares assessments etc.
You actively surface ideas and suggestions from across the team by sponsoring them through available suggestion scheme processes and providing regular updates on the status of submitted suggestions.
Compliance
Ensure all safety action (ATS, Concern Reports) assigned are actioned and closed in a satisfactory manner.
Aid the wider engineering group in the closure of all safety actions.
Ensuring that plant and equipment is operating in a compliant manner and that all activities are conducted to meet GMP regulations, site and corporate quality standards and any additional regulatory requirements as required.
Ensure that all health, safety & environmental requirements are fulfilled in accordance with the responsibilities defined in the company safety & environmental statements.
Play a leadership role in health, safety, and environmental issues within the department, leading Safety Element programs.
Strive for the highest standards in housekeeping and GMP.
Ensure all Quality Track wise actions that are assigned are actioned and closed in a satisfactory manner.
Aid the wider engineering group in the closure of Track wise actions.
Desired Characteristics
Previous experience working with a CMMS preferably Maximo.
Demonstrate experience in fault find and root cause analysis
Demonstrate Commitment, Engagement and Accountability always.
Display a LEAN mindset and using lean and other improvement programs.
A high degree of computer literacy.
Completed Electrical or Mechanical Trade Qualification.
