Job Description Summary
As the Maintenance Technician, you will work as part of the Maintenance team and will be responsible for ensuring that all infrastructure systems perform predictably and continue to operate as required in order to support the manufacturing process. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all systems, GMP and non-GMP, conform to relevant regulatory requirements as well as company specifications and requirements. The site is focused on continuous improvement of all work processes and practices and all colleagues are required to be flexible in this regard. This means that they may be asked to carry out additional work functions that are not described in this specification but are directly associated with their role.

Job Description
Responsibilities
Maximise the availability of all equipment to ensure full operations schedule adherence. Ensuring minimum response times to any utility system issues which impact on availability.
Monitor day to day performance of systems. Troubleshooting of performance trends. Anticipating, solving or escalating problems as appropriate.
Perform maintenance and improvement work on all equipment in order to enable full operations schedule adherence.
Support the Preventative Maintenance program by carrying out effective maintenance routines and repairs to prolong the useful life and optimise the efficiency of equipment.
Develop and implement equipment specific maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and performance in line with maintenance best practice.
Support program to optimise current Planned Maintenance procedures.
Work with the Engineering Systems Team Lead to develop a “reliability” cantered asset care strategy, with the following core pillars: equipment criticality and spares assessment, predictive maintenance techniques, fit for purpose PM program, technician driven RCA program and FMEA techniques.
Maintain safety and regulatory equipment at all times and report any defects.
Ensure accurate recording of all work completed in Maximo e.g. durations, spare parts used etc. and promote usage in the department.
Liaise with site stores team on the procurement of spare and replacement parts for all utility systems
Ensure that maintenance cover for your areas is provided at all times by demonstrating flexibility regarding working overtime, potentially across shifts, to provide cover for holidays, sick leave, shutdown periods, busy periods and as required.
Ensure that critical spare parts lists for each system are identified and appropriate levels of spares are maintained.
Management of detailed technical files and equipment history logs for all equipment.
Act as a subject matter expert in relevant equipment, instrument and system root cause investigations and fill the role of lead investigator where required.
Provide support to Operations, Validation, Engineering and Quality where required.
Support of new product introductions and introduction of new equipment.
Assist in the management of all required external contractors and suppliers for engineering.
Supporting the development of training packs for all equipment using existing site knowledge, together with external contractors as appropriate. Co-ordinate training for the team on these training packs.
Ensure compliance to all aspects of the Company’s Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are maintained.
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Support the assessment, action and closure of assigned safety actions (ATS, Concern Reports) in a satisfactory manner.
Aware of and comply with QA facilities, Preventative Maintenance, Calibration, Good Documentation Practices, Material Segregation and Control requirements.
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management policy, Quality Goals.
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Ensuring that plant and equipment is operating in a compliant manner and that all activities are conducted to meet GMP regulations, site and corporate quality standards and any additional regulatory requirements as required
Strive for the highest standards in housekeeping and GMP
Support CAPA investigations, determining accurate root cause and implementing action plans to prevent reoccurrences.
Qualifications and experience
Completed Engineering Qualification/Apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument Engineering or equivalent.
Solid experience within a GMP manufacturing environment
Strong electrical and electronic repair and diagnostic skills
Ability to work on own initiative & judgement with minimal supervision
General skills and expertise related to maintenance and facilities activities
Demonstrate levels of theoretical knowledge with practical application
Relevant working knowledge of a regulated industry and GMP
A high degree of computer literacy
Desired Skills
Previous experience working with a CMMS preferably Maximo
Experience in reliability centralized maintenance techniques i.e RCM, FMEA and equipment criticality assessments
Demonstrate Commitment, Engagement and Accountability at all times.
