Logitech Design for Sustainability Engineer in Cork, Ireland

The ideal candidate for this position will have a love for great design, broad experience of product development and a passion for rethinking the future of consumer electronics from both an environmental and social impact perspective. In this role you will support our world class engineering, design and marketing teams by integrating Design for Sustainability into every stage of the product development process. You will have a direct influence on improving the environmental performance of millions of products.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the Design for Sustainability strategy for new product introductions

  • Integrate with different product development teams early in the design process to support decision making around environmental impact

  • Unlock opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint of our products, advance our circular design considerations and advocate on social responsibility

  • Develop Design for Sustainability guidelines to support product development activities

  • Drive the research and adoption of lower carbon footprint materials, technologies and processes

  • Help to develop the tools and capabilities needed to measure the environmental impact of our products, for example, creating carbon impact insights

  • Carry out the technical analysis of various products to support the evolution of our carbon impact insights

  • Educate, enable and inspire those around you in your team and in other functions

Your Skills

For consideration you must bring the following skills and behaviors to our team:

  • 5 years (minimum) product development experience

  • Broad product development experience

  • Particular focus on mechanical, materials and electronics design

  • Literacy in sustainability and lifecycle thinking

  • Understanding of sustainable design principles

  • Experience in circular design strategies

  • Experience in LCA is a distinct advantage

  • Project management skills

  • Fluency in 3D CAD programmes, preferably Creo

  • Passionate about sustainability and the role sustainable design can play within product development

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment

  • Lead and collaborate cross functional teams

  • Self-starter with a curious, creative and proactive mindset

Education

  • Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design or equivalent. Industrial experience in a relevant discipline will also be considered.
