Disaster Recovery Advisor

What does a great Disaster Recovery Advisor do at Fiserv?

As a Disaster Recovery Advisor at Fiserv, you will play a crucial role in the Enterprise Risk & Controls group, reporting to the Head of Disaster Recovery. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the development, implementation, testing, education, and maintenance of the Fiserv Disaster Recovery program. This program ensures technology recovery in the event of an emergency or disaster, and your expertise will help maintain standards and ensure that all plans are documented and meet the required criteria. You will work closely with technology contacts to foster a high level of awareness across the company and ensure appropriate preparedness during a disaster. Additionally, you will be instrumental in implementing firm-wide Disaster Recovery Policies and Standards, providing guidance to all lines of business to ensure compliance.

What you will do:

  • Develop and implement controls and solutions to complex business problems, mitigating risks and exposures effectively.

  • Lead the execution of Data Center Disaster Recovery exercises.

  • Evaluate Business Unit infrastructure and system requirements in terms of corporate compliance, proactively identifying concerns or improvements for Disaster Recovery processes.

  • Enforce adherence to Enterprise Business Continuity Policies and Standards, mandating that assessments and plans are updated annually.

  • Collaborate with the Joint Security Operation Center (JSOC) to identify and mitigate incidents that affect Fiserv's interests.

  • Participate in audit and regulatory reviews related to Disaster Recovery.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on Disaster Recovery concepts, methodology, and best practices.

  • Assist technology teams in developing and maintaining Disaster Recovery plans, including annual testing.

  • Drive improvements and efficiency in the Disaster Recovery program.

  • Maintain thorough documentation and records related to the DR program.

What you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical and/or technical position.

  • Deep expertise in Disaster Recovery concepts, methodology, and payments industry best practices.

  • Experience leading large-scale incidents.

  • Proficiency in the Disaster Recovery planning cycle, including analysis, design, implementation, validation, testing, and problem resolution.

  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain detailed project plans and documentation.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to think long-term and strategically, translating plans into actionable tactics.

  • Availability during off-duty hours and willingness to travel to Fiserv facilities.

What would be great to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience with an industry-recognized Professional Certification (preferred).

  • Prior experience in a related role within the financial services industry.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Disaster Recovery in the financial industry.

  • Professional certification in Disaster Recovery or related field.
