Program Coordinator
This position is in the School of Nursing and Health Studies’ (SONHS) and reports to the Sr. College Recruiter and serves as a program coordinator for SONHS academic programs. This position works closely with key personnel to implement the School’s comprehensive recruitment plan, brainstorm new recruitment strategies, and market SONHS programs to recruit a top-notch and diverse student body.
The approximate breakdown of duties is divided into the following areas: Implement and assess a recruitment plan (50%); Travel to strategic areas to represent SONHS programs and support school-wide open houses, academic fairs, and informational sessions (10%); Leverage data, digital technology, and communication tools for recruitment (30%); assist in management of Student Ambassadors (10%).
The ideal applicant will be able to travel locally and will possess excellent analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills. It is also important that applicants be able to be self-directed as well as collaborative as a member of the Student Recruitment team. At least two years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree in health science, higher education, marketing, nursing, public health, public relations, or a related field is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and assess a recruitment plan for SONHS programs (50%)
Serve as program coordinator for all SONHS programs.
Act as point of contact (direct and escalation) for prospects, inquiries, and applicants, and assist prospective students through all aspects of the admissions cycle.
Meeting regularly with faculty to learn about their program and strategies for reaching and exceeding program recruitment goals.
Assess outreach efforts to determine effectiveness of campaigns.
Travel to strategic areas to identify and recruit prospective students and support SONHS programs in hosting campus events (10%)
Represent the School of Nursing and Health Studies at strategically relevant conferences and events.
Support the planning and organizing school-wide open houses, academic fairs, and informational sessions.
Work with Sr. College Recruiter to help organize events (internal and with external partners) hosted by program areas.
Coordinate student visits virtually and to the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies.
Leverage data, technology, and communication tools for recruitment (30%)
Identify prospective student populations and develop electronic campaigns for recruitment of those populations.
Fully integrate the use of SalesForce for students, including the use of data to assist faculty in their outreach efforts.
Fully integrate the use of NursingCas for students, including the use of data to assist faculty in their outreach efforts.
Periodically review program collateral for accuracy and relevancy to prospective student needs.
Host online events to attract specific populations.
Assist in Management of Student Ambassador Program (10%)
Manage guidelines for Student Ambassadors.
Coordinate with S.H.A.R.E. Administration of tour scheduling and training for student ambassadors.
Manage Student Ambassadors’ involvement in activities and school events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.
Knowledge of SaleForce preferred.
Knowledge of additional graphic design, marketing, and recruitment software a plus.
Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to travel locally.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment by using good multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to engage and assist a diverse student body and to work closely with faculty, administration, and outside organizations with minimal supervision.
Ability to be self-directed as well as collaborative to work effectively as a member of a team.
Experience with student information systems and administrative processes.
Nursing degree preferred.
