Program Coordinator

LawWithoutWalls

The Program Coordinator performs a variety of research, planning, and administrative functions to support and facilitate the growth of the LawWithoutWalls (LWOW) program and to provide administrative support for Professor DeStefano’s other classes. The Coordinator assists with the development, organization, production, and evaluation of the program to achieve its mission, goals, and objectives. An employee in this position demonstrates familiarity with University policies and procedures and ensures program compliance.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Works closely with the Director of the LWOW Program, the Founder of the LWOW Program, and other full-time faculty, adjuncts, staff, and students (from UM and the other LWOW participating schools) to continuously support and improve the learning experience and quality and value of the program. Serves as the liaison between the LWOW and other Units at UM and other LWOW participants Makes calendar appointments, travel arrangements, and reservations for leadership and staff. Coordinates and attends LWOW meetings and provides notes and summaries. Manages supplies and assets for LWOW and purchasing of required supplies and instructional materials for LWOW Sprint event. Handles expense reimbursement and P Card expenses for the Director of LWOW, Professor DeStefano, and LWOW student helpers who attend Sprint or other events. Under the direction of the Director of LWOW, assists with the development of marketing and social media content (including written and video posts and open houses ) Assists the LWOW Leadership team in planning and marketing LWOW events including but not limited to LWOW PopUps, WarmUps, and Sprint including branding, giveaways, logo design. Assists with the planning, preparation, coordination and/or delivery of program content at program events (noted above) Provides assistance and support for participants and/or program constituents in all administrative aspects of LWOW (and in Professor DeStefano’s other classes) and maintains files and/or program data. This includes but is not limited to

Supporting the LWOW Director, Professor DeStefano, and other LWOW leaders with daily clerical tasks

Updating to Blackboard and Google Classroom as needed and per the syllabus created by the Director of LWOW and Professor DeStefano

Overseeing database maintenance and enrollment management of participants and students from participating schools in LWOW.

Registering UM students for Professor DeStefano’s courses (e.g., Civil Procedure and LawWIthoutWalls) and inputting grades using University procedures and systems.

Responding to various requests and telephone, email, and internet submissions for LWOW and for Professor DeStefano.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Under the supervision of the Director, helps reconcile budgets and provides monthly budget reports to ensure operations are within budget

Education/Experience: High School or equivalent and minimum 1 years of relevant work experience. Some college education is preferred.

  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary and travel outside the country as needed

  • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports, and correspondence

  • Proficiency Microsoft Office and Google Drive and ability to learn new software needed to perform job

functions (e.g. Squarespace, Canva, Feedback Fruits, Blackboard, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom)

  • Ability and interest in social media and marketing strategy and content development

  • Ability to proactively communicate, follow-up, and collaborate with others

Note: this position is an in-person position with some flexibility after 3 to 6 months on the job depending on the candidate
