POSITION SUMMARY:Must have experience in Standby Generators Generac and/or Briggs and Stratton. The Generator Service Technician performs tasks related to electrical repair and/or installation of electrical equipment for mainly residential customers and is responsible for maintaining customer health, safety and satisfaction.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment.
Place conduit inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete the circuits between boxes.
Construct/fabricate parts; fasten boxes to wall to house electrical switches or outlets.
Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
Works closely with other departments to ensure the proper transfer of all service work business data.
Wear floor savers while working in client homes.
Inspection of area for cleanliness after job completion.
Maintains company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
Technician should be comfortable with working on Standby Generators. Our primary lines are Briggs and Stratton and Generac.
This position will be to install, service, and troubleshoot whole house generator systems.
Certifications or Technician ID's are a definite benefit to have but are not required to apply for this position.

Maintaining a courteous demeanor with all customers and associates.
Maintains company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
Respecting the customer’s property.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as an electrician/ generator technician in a residential service and maintenance operation.
Basic math and reading comprehension.
Knowledge of electrical field concepts, practices, best practices, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems.
Solid communication and customer service skills.
Must have appropriate trade tools.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
EDUCATIONAL/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GED or High School Diploma.
Generac Certified Technician: Air Cooled (Preferred)
Briggs and Stratton Certified Technician: Air Cooled (Preferred)
Liquid Cooled Certifications
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Extreme temperatures.
Climbing, heavy lifting, loud noise, crawling, working in confined spaces, pushing/pulling, carrying equipment, bending, turning, kneeling.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work extended hours, nights or weekends.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.

They should be dependable, a team player, and have a great work ethic. Mister Sparky is located in Conway SC, but we serve all of Horry, Georgetown, and lower Brunswick NC. We are primarily focused on residential service and offer 24/7 service to our customers.Our Employees enjoy troubleshooting, dealing with our customers, going above and beyond and being compensated well for their hard work.
