Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Onsite – Uncle Sam, Louisiana

Relocation: Available

Pay: $110,000 - $130,000 plus bonus incentive

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Capital Project Engineer to join our team at the Louisiana Concentrate Site. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of capital projects of varying size and complexity, including Asset Sustaining, Opportunity, and Large Capital projects. The role involves project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimation, procurement, supervision, execution, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with safety, scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

• Oversee contractor management and contribute to fostering a positive safety culture.

• Handle project administration tasks, including project approval, reporting, and schedule updates.

• Perform technical design work and provide oversight of third-party engineering efforts.

• Develop cost estimates, manage project budgets, and provide monthly project forecasts.

• Create and maintain project schedules and ensure timely reporting.

• Develop engineering work packages and provide oversight for construction in an industrial environment.

• Participate in site and company-wide initiatives supporting safety, production, expansion, and maintenance.

• Contribute to departmental initiatives, including engineering and project management process definition.

• Mentor and coach others, including contractors and trades, through training courses and hands-on guidance.

  Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required (Mechanical preferred, Electrical considered).

• Experience:

• Engineer III: 4+ years of engineering experience, with relevant construction management experience in industrial environments, especially in operating plants or brownfield settings. Strong leadership and communication skills are a must.

• Engineer Sr: 8+ years of engineering experience, including significant project management and construction oversight experience in industrial environments. Demonstrated leadership, people management, and written/verbal communication skills.

• Additional Skills:

• Broad engineering and construction knowledge across all disciplines is an asset.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant engineering software.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Ability to work in a chemical operating facility environment.
