Summary:
This role will be responsible for the fabrication of prototype and production parts.
Principal Accountabilities:
Layout and plan work from mechanical drawings, rough sketches, or other oral or written specifications.
Operate equipment to produce component parts with specified dimensions and finishes from a wide variety of materials.
Gaging and inspecting work to align with engineering specifications.
Assembling machine and subassemblies according to prints, process sheets, and relevant documentation.
Testing and debugging machines and subassemblies to meet established machine specifications.
Align, fit, or assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes
Positional Requirements:
High School Diploma with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Formal training in an accredited machine shop or certificate program may be accepted in lieu of experience.
Ability to use and manual Lathes and milling machines, hand tools, grinders, and drill presses.
Ability to program CNC machines mills and lathes would be preferred.
CNC machines experience is preferred. All grades of metal and plastics.
Computer literacy, with an emphasis on CAM programming as applicable.
Basic knowledge of CAD (open, chart, create layout, make minor modifications)
Ability to read mechanical drawings.
Strong technical math background.
Knowledge of GD&T.
Attention to detail including good communication skills.
Ability to get along with co-workers and work within a team.
Ability to occasionally work flexible hours when necessary.
Able to work independently with little direct supervision.
Ability to adhere to applicable safety practices.
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:
Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
Physical Demands:
Ability to work at tool-room work stations; bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand at work station for extended periods of time.
Must demonstrate good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis
