The Design Quality Engineer is responsible for providing q uality engineering support to new product innovation, design, sustaining engineering and manufacturing to ensure the design and development of the highest quality products for our customers. The incumbent will drive impact within the organization, support exciting projects, and experience continuous professional growth.

This position is part of the design quality engineering team and will be located in Concord, O ntario, Canada .

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide Quality Engineering support for NPI teams to ensure the development of hardware, software and consumable products, with experience in both IVD/MD and RUO products.

• Ensure the implementation of Risk Management activities during product development using tools such as FMEA and technical standards such as ISO14971 and IEC62304.

• Analyzes n on-conformance event and complaint data analysis, investigate root causes, propose improvements, and maintain NC M R /CAPA documentation .

• Drive corrective, preventive, and closure actions for project issues related to quality and/or test nonconformance s.

• Provide comprehensive Quality Engineering support by collaborating with the IQC and FAI team to identify and manage defective material through the NCMR (Nonconforming Material Report) process.

  The essential requirements of the job include:    

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical , Electrical and Software Engineering is preferre d with a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering.

• Experience with incoming inspection , blueprint specification reading including Geometric D imensioning and T olerancing (GD&T) system.

• Demonstrated experience with Engineering Change Requests and Change Orders.

• Proven experience providing quality support for New Product Introductions.

  It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:  

• Conducting design of experiments, verification, validation, and employing statistical sampling techniques in a quality engineering environment.

• Utilizing precision measurement tools such as Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

• ASQ CQE or ASQ CSQE certification.
