Typical Starting Salary is $22.50 - 30.02/hr
This position offers aTrainee Status*at the following pay rate: $21.63 per hour.
*Candidates hired at a Trainee Status must meet minimum qualifications within one (1) year of hire date
The State of New Hampshire, Department of Environmental Services, Waste Management Division, MtBE Remediation Bureau has a full time vacancy for a Drinking Water Sampler.
This is a grant-funded position and is subject to renew every 2 years.
Summary:
Initiates sampling of drinking water wells and conducts studies associated with per-and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) contaminated groundwater.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major study in a related environmental science. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:
Two years experience as an Environmentalist or two years of GIS or laboratory experience in a related science field such as implementing sampling programs, including experience collecting and processing samples and entering information into database and spreadsheet programs.
License/Certification:
Must possess a valid drivers license to complete professional fieldwork.
PREFERRED WORK TRAITS:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Plans and conducts inspections, surveys, and collection of samples statewide from drinking water wells associated with per-and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) contamination following protocols established by the NHDES.
