Lilly Lead Maintenance Technician - Night Shift in Concord, North Carolina

Responsibilities:

The Lead Technician – Maintenance (Night Shift) is responsible for equipment maintenance strategy development, providing front line support to production processes, as well as, supporting area engineering initiatives, process improvements, and project implementation. This position will require the development of expertise in production processes, verification requirements, and equipment controls system technologies. The Lead Technician – Maintenance (Night Shift) will ensure that equipment is maintained in a qualified state, can be operated safely, and maintenance is properly performed on the systems. This role is for the Device Assembly Packaging team.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Support Site Leadership to build a diverse and capable organization by delivering area equipment and maintenance procedures, quality processes and controls for the Device Assembly and Packaging areas.

  • Assure that operational and maintenance procedures and practices reflect safety concerns.

  • Perform activities in accordance with cGMPs and applicable procedures.

  • Identify opportunities to improve quality using equipment performance data and by assuring maintenance is performed appropriately.

  • Effectively communicate with all levels to ensure all projects and repairs are well planned and coordinated with minimal disruption to that area involved.

  • Working with the process team, including engineers and operations personnel, participate in and sometimes lead development of equipment design, procedures, engineering studies, and maintenance practices that will enable the process to operate as required.

  • Seek out and identify opportunities to improve equipment operational effectiveness and reliability.

  • Provide technical support for process and engineering teams.

  • Transfer knowledge of equipment capabilities and operational techniques to operators, engineering, and maintenance.

  • Contractor and Vendor coordination.

  • Provide leadership on manufacturing floor ensuring high level of safety, quality, and productivity to maintain reliable supply of products to patients.

  • Technical leader: Key resource for troubleshooting and functions as the primary point of contact for issue escalation from the shop floor.

Basic Qualifications:

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely.

  • Experience in GMP manufacturing environment.

  • Strong equipment/process troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal)

  • Flexibility and problem-solving skills

  • Basic computer skills (desktop software) are required.

  • Previous experience directly supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% during Asset Delivery and < 5% after startup

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Associates Degree

  • Previous experience with highly automated equipment

  • Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (GMARS – Maximo)
