Compensation Range:$20-$25/hour
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.
The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for preparing documentation of shipments on time with correct information, both domestically and internationally, according to industrial or international transportation standards and packing instructions provided. Coordinate activities of shipping team and parties outside shipping.
- Collaborate with the Production, Sales, Quality, and/or Engineering teams to gather information related to the shipment of finished goods. This includes prototype samples and any ad hoc shipping requests.
- Coordinate with Sales team and Carrier to generate documents such as Hazmat Form, IMO Form, Bill of Landing, Pack List, etc. as required.
- Print labels and verify the accuracy and consistency of both labels and documentation.
- Ensure the accuracy of packing material inventory by verifying and inputting information into the Visual (ERP) system.
- Communicate via phone or email to schedule and confirm the pickup time window as necessary.
- Obtain accurate shipping costs from carrier websites, such as FedEx or UPS, and relay this information to the Sales team.
- Assist in in determining the priority of packing shipments based on the scheduled pickup time or ship date.
- Report any issues or discrepancies affecting shipments to the Planning and Purchasing departments or senior management as necessary and seek timely resolutions.
- Provide training and coordination with shipping team members as directed.
- Distribute necessary shipping information to relevant cross-functional teams as needed.
- Additional duties ass assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred.
- 3+ year of experience as a shipping coordinator or related work.
- Strong leadership Skills.
- Communication and Organizational skills.
- Time management.
- Computer skills such as Microsoft Office
General Job Requirements
- The candidate should be able to frequently stand, walk, reach, for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to be comfortable in working in office, shipping, and loading dock setting.
- This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
