Oracle Senior User Experience Designer - DbaaS in Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will be part of the Database Tools User Experience team focusing on all Cloud Database User Interfaces. You will help guide the creation of new user experiences as well as identify and correct issues in our existing product. On any given day, you may brainstorm with development or product teams, create user flows, produce wireframes and high-fidelity visual designs, build a prototype, or present to stakeholders. In all things, you will be an advocate for our users.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design and usability principles in the investigation of technical problems. You may develop user profiles, design to limit human error, optimize user interaction, and perform objective analyses. You may evaluate product usability and produce specifications describing user needs.

Our work is non-routine and very complex. It involves the application of advanced technical and business skills. It will require you to be a leading individual contributor as well as a team member who provides direction and mentorship to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically 5 years of software UX or related experience required.

Responsibilities

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

Canada: Hiring Range from $58,100 to $126,000 CAD per annum

US: Hiring Range: from $85,500 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
