JPMorgan Chase Risk Management - Quality Assurance Analyst - Senior Associate in Columbus, Ohio

As a Senior Associate in the Risk Management and Quality Assurance Analyst role within the Risk Management and Compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the strength and resilience of JPMorgan Chase. Your position will be situated within the Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Risk division, as a part of an established Quality Assurance team. Your primary responsibilities will include continuous testing of Card and Business Banking credit decisions across various portfolios. Additionally, you will collaborate with senior business owners and other credit risk professionals within Card and Business Banking Risk to evaluate, monitor, report, and mitigate credit risk.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help drive the quality and effectiveness of risk controls established by business and process owners by independently testing the credit risk of lending decisions made within the first line with a focus on level of risk assumed in relation to risk appetite.

  • Conduct both random and targeted reviews to provide an independent evaluation of Card and Business Banking approved and declined credit decisions to ensure the risk reward balance is properly maintained.

  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provide business direction on opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide an independent, objective view of credit risk assessments, mitigation strategies and emerging risks.

  • Actively participate in weekly team application review meetings to ensure the group is providing accurate/consistent/timely feedback to the first line business groups.

  • Present findings to senior leaders as appropriate.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 5+ years of financial industry experience

  • 5+ years of business lending experience

  • Extensive knowledge of small business lending including spreading/analyzing financial statements

  • Ability to collaborate with business and functional experts to provide risk assessment guidance, recognize risks and design enhancements

  • Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders

  • Strong decision making, analytical and creative thinking skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Prior experience in a quality control role reviewing Card or Business Banking credit decisions
