    Position Summary:

    A Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from start to finish. Their primary role is to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. They work collaboratively with internal project teams (engineering, purchasing, field and shop personnel) and external vendors to identify and resolve any project relevant issues to deliver successful projects for our customers. Project Managers communicate regularly with our clients, architects, and engineers to ensure that project specifications, contract documents, and our scope of work are clearly defined. They also ensure that our team is executing the contracted work, doing so in alignment with our company values, The Anderson Way.

  • Develops project schedule with internal stakeholders and maintains throughout the duration of the project. The schedule is communicated with the client regularly and updated as needed.

  • Coordinates job sequence with client, engineering, shop, and field to ensure work is completed in order and on time.

  • Develops a procurement plan, performs material takeoffs, coordinates purchase orders with our Purchasing Manager, and manages the material manager with Engineering.

  • Estimates the cost of materials, labor, and equipment associated with change orders.

  • Develops the submittal log, reviews the submittal requirements, and submits the documentation timely to ensure the project stays on schedule. Tests various material to confirm compatibility, as necessary.

  • Prepares and negotiates RFI's to minimize cost and scheduling impact.

  • Reviews shop and fabrication drawings with Engineering to confirm scope is correct and then reviews drawings with Field Superintendent to ensure understanding and fulfillment of project specific requirements.

  • Timely responses to field observation reports and punchlists from the Client.

  • Makes regularly scheduled job site visits to determine progress of the job, works with our Superintendent and Safety Manager on quality and safety requirements, and resolves project related issues with the client.

  • Generates site specific safety plans with the Safety Manager and our means & methods with the Superintendent.

  • Demonstrates basic understanding of system loading/calculations, tolerances, water lines, etc.

    Basic Requirements:

  • Reliable Transportation

  • Authorized to Work in the U.S.

    Work experience:

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in construction management, or related field – OR – 4+ years of construction experience preferably in the glass & glazing industry.

  • Construction software experience or exposure preferred.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

  • Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace.

  • Work well under the pressure of time constraints and changing expectations.

  • Ability to identify problems, establish facts, collect data, draw valid conclusions, and ensure problems are solved and do not reoccur.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with construction managers, architects, engineers, field, and shop personnel.

  • Experienced in reading and analyzing construction and project management documents e.g., building plans and specifications, contracts, safety codes and budget sheets.

  • Recognize basic engineering and architectural principles in structures.
