JOB DESCRIPTION

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of remote work and in-office reporting), with the coordination and approval of the appropriate supervisor. This position is located in Columbus, OH.

Position Title: Programs and Project Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Technical Services and Compliance

FLSA Status: Exempt

Basic Functions: Provides project management and operational support for Member programs and services.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide program oversight, support, and project management for a variety of both new and existing Member programs and services.

  2. Responsible for supporting or managing the agreements and contracts of existing programs and services.

  3. Responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on key performance indicators representing the performance of existing programs and services.

  4. Provide oversight, assistance, and management of budgets for a variety of programs and services. Maintain, track, and facilitate associated billing, invoicing, member, and vendor relationships along with the associated tracking and reporting.

  5. Oversee the Asset Management program which involves obtaining quotations and purchasing stock distribution materials and the sale of items to Members.

  6. Track and maintain documentation of departmental activities and progress towards strategic and departmental goals. Design and implement measures to ensure deadlines are met.

  7. Attends and represents AMP at meetings of interest to management.

  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Project Management, Business, Engineering, or other related degree that focuses on managing projects is required.

  2. A strong understanding of managing multiple projects and tracking of activities with software is preferred.

  3. Four to six years of project management or planning experience is highly preferred. Experience with electric utilities, public power, electrical generation and/or electric distribution systems is preferred.

  4. Must work independently, be highly accurate, detail oriented and possess the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize project workloads.

  5. Ability to work closely with Members, contractors, consultants, and staff to manage projects.

  6. Must have excellent verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.

  7. Must demonstrate expertise in the use of software tools, spreadsheets, written reports, database reports and graphical presentations (e.g. Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). Use of Microsoft Project Management software (e.g. Projects) is preferred. Must be willing to travel approximately 30% of the time.
