Plans, implements, and evaluates the administrative, operational, supervisory and direct care activities for an assigned cost center. Leads a multi-disciplinary team of professional and support staff in strategic directives and care activities to ensure the assigned department achieves best outcomes for patients, families and staff. Responsibilities * In collaboration with the Director, develops expense, operational and capital budgets. Monitors, evaluates and justifies monthly budget expenditures and revenue. * Recruits, trains, evaluate, develops, disciplines and/or terminates subordinate staff. Assures that performance standards for all staff are met. * Promotes teamwork by building a team environment and fostering cross-functional collaboration. * Maintains safety and quality as priorities, providing direction, prioritization, accountability, enthusiasm and support for safety and quality initiatives. * Coordinates staff representation on departmental, hospital and community task forces, committees, quality teams and advisory groups. Serves as a representative to such groups when appropriate. * Maintains awareness of policy or practice changes to determine the impact to the teaching curriculum. (continuously) * Coordinates the development of proficiency testing for Epic implementations when applicable. (occasionally) * Participates in hospital projects that include new Epic implementations or new technology initiatives to determine the best method for education and evaluate the ongoing needs. (continuously) Qualifications Education: MSN or Masters in a related field with a BSN required. Licensure: Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio required. Certifications: Preferred Certification in Nursing Informatics, Leadership or Clinical Specialty. Skills: Competency in nursing clinical practice. Experience: Minimum of 5 years clinical experience as an RN required, pediatric experience preferred.
