Pharmacist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will review and approve prescriptions, conduct medication assessments, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, patient confidentiality, and the ability to provide clinical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve prescriptions filled by pharmacy technicians according to State Board of Pharmacy regulations.

  • Conduct medication assessments with patient medical information on all prescriptions.

  • Perform final checks of filled prescriptions to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies regarding controlled substances and legend drugs.

  • Implement quality and cost containment strategies on dispensing and procurement activities.

  • Respond to drug-related questions and concerns initiated by internal and external customers.

  • Assess laboratory data and therapeutic drug ranges.

  • Collaborate with pharmacy management on special projects and initiatives.

  • Complete competency verification plan upon hire and annually to ensure familiarity with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

  • Assist with on-call responsibilities as needed, acting as the pharmacy leader in the absence of the Pharmacist in Charge.

  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and patient/client care in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.

  • Licensed with State Boards of Pharmacy as necessary.

  • At least 1+ years of experience in a relevant field.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Good computer skills.

  • Ability to work well within a team.

  • Effective multi-tasking in a stressful environment.

  • Demonstrated self-initiative in the workplace.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmacy, home infusion, hospital, or clinical monitoring settings.

  • Customer service skills.

  • Experience with compounding and healthcare.

Work Environment

Shift: 8:30-5 M-F, Rotating on call every 3 weeks

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
