Description:

Actalent is currently partnered with a Design Build Engineering Firm in Grandview, OH and we are hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for their team. This company has been in business for nearly 100 years and they are a leader in innovative technical solutions for the grain-based food industry. This Engineering firm designs, manufactures, and services customers by providing them with industrial baking equipment for the baking industry. This Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the entire cradle to grave process of the equipment's' conception to commissioning.

Responsibilities include:

• Work with customers to understand their need for the type of baking equipment that is needed in their facility and use the information to create the concept of the equipment.

• Roughly 40% of the job will be mechanical design, 40% project management and 20% travel/field work

• Project management includes inception of quoting, designing components, managing purchasing and managing customer relationships.

• Mechanical design responsibilities would include utilizing Autodesk Inventor for any 3d model design and AutoCAD for the 2d drawings. The 2d drawings could include P&ID's & plant layout drawings.

• The project engineering responsibilities would include vendor management, managing the entire process of the project, managing equipment re-design, purchasing the parts for the equipment, manage the individuals who will be installing & commissioning the equipment, and go to the customer site for the installation & follow up/training.

• Roughly 30% of this position will require this Engineer to travel to the customer site - travel will be field work doing installation/troubleshooting

  MUST HAVES:

• Associates/technical degree

• At least 1 solid full year of professional experience in mechanical design engineer role

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and 3D CAD design

NICE TO HAVES:

Bachelors of Science (Engineering focus)

Autodesk Inventor experience is a huge plus

Liquid handling experience, piping design, molten steel or similar experience

Preferably 2-3 years of experience
