WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Maintains facilities, facilities systems and equipment to provide a safe, efficient and comfortable workplace.

  • Responsibilities include operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all building facilities, grounds, and equipment; move and installation of equipment and or furniture; and other related duties. Expert level only.

  • Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve Facilities processes.

  • Responsible for running projects from scope to completion.

  • Performs pilot plant and/or office facilities maintenance duties such as furniture moving & reconfigurations, employee office moves, maintenance of office equipment, spot painting or cleaning, light construction or exterior clean up.

  • Ability to run projects including coordinating vendors, obtaining quotes, scheduling work, and communicating with Abbott client.

  • Performs work in more than one of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, HVAC, for the construction, repair, and/or alteration of structures such as building infrastructure, equipment or office fixtures.

  • Performs conference rooms furniture setups and may be asked to assist with audio visual equipment setup.

  • Performs routine repairs and maintenance of pilot plant, lab, and/or office facilities and equipment by using hand or power tools as required.

  • Assists with maintenance of facility grounds and building exteriors.

  • Makes routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.

  • Performs exterior site work such as irrigation repairs, trash removal, landscape modifications, and exterior building maintenance.

  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications.

  • Where and when applicable, removes snow from entrances and docking areas by using appropriate equipment.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • High school diploma

  • 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination

  • Applies extensive knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices and a complete understanding of fundamentals in a functional area and working knowledge of other related disciplines.

  • Utilizes/interprets advanced data to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems.

  • Performs specialized assignments usually in the nature of projects, requiring working independently.

  • May design, develop, or modify area-specific processes or procedures.

  • Assignments require considerable judgment, high degree of initiative, creative approaches in troubleshooting, and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement of work methods for functional area.

The base pay for this position is $20.60 – $41.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
