SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in the design, production, and delivery of electronic products. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to identify and resolve quality issues, develop quality control procedures, and maintain compliance with industry standards.

REPORTS TO (Title) : Site Leader, Akron Brass

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the quality of cutting-edge hardware and software solutions for both new and existing products in a fast-paced environment.

  • Utilize the FSG (Fire Safety group) development tollgate process to appropriately plan quality checks along the NPD/Sustaining timeline.

  • Work collaboratively with local and remote teams to create solutions that meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations.

  • Engage appropriate resources to meet obligations and to drive effective QA processes and procedures.

  • Develop new engineering standards, processes and procedures as identified and required to meet high quality standards.

  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring standards and processes are being followed and documented accordingly.

  • Provide focus for raising technical excellence, including standards and methods.

  • Act as a technical specialist to ensure standards are being met and vendors are providing quality parts, on time.

  • Monitor and control product compliance and ensure that designs meet relevant safety and certification requirements including ISO, NFPA, Etc.

  • Ensure effective co-ordination with other Management.

  • Responsible for leading, creating, publishing and maintaining Test and Verification Methods including Engineering tests and Validation plans

  • Support Customer Complaint, Product failure, and audit root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action implementations

  • Conduct routine audits of processes and procedures and utilize CAPA (corrective the preventative actions to mitigate identified risks.

  • Perform other related duties as defined.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES

  • Broad knowledge of electronic, electrical, and related best practice, manufacturing, quality assurance and engineering outputs.

  • Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

  • Technical and working knowledge in compliance standards including ISO, NFPA, CE, UL, E

  • Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ)

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive electronics, a deep understanding of both hardware and software solutions and proven knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in Electronics Quality

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

  • Proven team leadership background in electronics and quality processes

  • Experience with multi-disciplined design team linked to contract manufacturers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • On Site Role – Columbus, Ohio

  • Perform general office functions.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
