Job Summary

The Director of Process Improvement (Process Lead) is a leadership position responsible for driving organizational performance through continuous improvement initiatives. This role will serve as an enterprise process owner that will lead continuous improvement in conjunction with business partners across AEP. Enterprise processes / journeys include procure to pay, work management, and meter to cash. This role will partner with business unit leaders to identify and execute upon key process improvement opportunities across the enterprise, including organizational alignment, transformational, cost savings, and process design / redesign activities. Provide subject matter expertise and coaching / guidance when identifying, developing/designing, and executing business process improvement efforts for AEP.

Job Description

Priorities and Deliverables:

  • Enterprise Process / Journey Lead - Serve as process owner for enterprise process / journey – procure to pay, work management, or meter to cash.

  • Process Optimization : Identify areas for improvement across the organization and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, cost savings opportunities, improved organizational alignment, process design/redesign, etc.

  • Team Development : Support the development of a high performing team of continuous improvement professionals across AEP to drive these initiatives with leaders across the organization. Provide subject matter expertise and coaching / guidance when identifying, developing/designing, and executing business process improvement efforts for AEP.

  • Data Analysis : Utilize data analytics to assess performance metrics and inform decision-making processes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and external partners to promote continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Change Management : Lead change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.

  • Performance Monitoring : Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of continuous improvement efforts and stay aligned with business units to ensure outcomes are realized.

  • Project Management - Apply project management principles to effectively manage and report to milestones.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline. MBA or other Master’s degree desired.

Experience: Minimum of twelve years’ experience in business transformation/continuous improvement, business operations, engineering, project management/utility design or related field.

License/Certifications: PMP, Transformation, Lean, Continuous Improvement certifications or continued education preferred.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with continuous / process improvement toolsets and leadership

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, leveraging project management principles to deliver high quality outcomes desired by the customer/ business partner

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, result focused and process oriented, strong communication skill, and knowledge of business

  • Ability to effectively manage meetings and executive workshops, making executive presentations

  • Ability to effectively articulate business opportunity, strategize, design, and execute forward-thinking objectives and generate innovative data-driven approaches to organizational improvement

  • Experience with managing teams and leading cross-functional initiative

Compensation Grade:

Compensation Range:

$155,761.00-202,490.50 USD
