TEKsystems Desktop Support Analyst in Columbus, Ohio

Description

We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Analyst. The ideal candidate will work closely with other Support Center analysts and Senior Technicians to address workstation support needs, providing both hands-on and remote support services. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and a passion for solving a wide variety of problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workstation Support:

  • Collaborate with Support Center analysts and Senior Technicians to understand and address workstation support needs.

  • Resolve escalated calls in the Call Tracking system and assume primary responsibility for client workstation support.

  • Provide hands-on and remote-controlled workstation support services.

  • Technical Expertise:

  • Offer expertise on support services when requested by peers and clients.

  • Create software images and lead or participate in hardware and software deployments.

  • Manage hardware and software procurement and disposal, including recycling outdated equipment.

  • Oversee print server queues and network printers.

  • Task Management:

  • Ensure completion of all assigned tasks and maintain proper communication with clients.

  • Provide level-2 support and maintain awareness of Support Center operations.

  • Operate support outposts in client areas and reconcile client demand for services with available resources.

  • Participate in Support Center planning functions and record all support activities for proper measurement of support business.

  • Problem-Solving:

  • Enjoy solving a wide variety of problems on a continual basis.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Experience with technology in a business environment, including Help Desk Support, data communications/networks, and application environments (mainframe, workgroup, and desktop).

  • Familiarity with DOS/Windows and Lotus SmartSuite application software.

  • Fundamental understanding of word processing, spreadsheet, and terminal emulation products.

  • Customer Service:

  • Experience with customer service functions such as workstation support.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to ascertain the criticality of incoming requests.

  • Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

  • Experience:

  • At least two to four years of experience in computer support.

  • Experience supporting a large user base in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00
