CAS is currently seeking a Materials Science Intern for Summer 2025 in the Content Operations Division. This position would be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Position Summary: Our Summer Intern Program seeks to create a high level of engagement and learning for participants through deep immersion into our working environment with our professional teams. Participants will benefit from exposure to world class scientists all while growing their professional networks. These connections provide great insights into career possibilities. Job Accountabilities: Complete an initial training assignment to become familiar with chemical information curation at CAS. Collaborate with teammates and managers to evaluate the existing materials science content curation workflow and identify opportunities to improve both the process and scope of relevant content. Connect across the organization through the Summer Intern Program to build influential working relationships, preparing your career for tomorrow. Stay abreast of the latest scientific trends through individual and team training opportunities. Qualifications: Pursuing a degree in Materials Science or related discipline (like Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering). Completion of multiple semesters of Materials Science and/or Chemistry coursework is required. Interest and willingness to explore a lean six sigma yellow belt to aid in process improvement. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication skills, teaming skills, leadership skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment as well as independently.
