The Assistant Controller is responsible for providing consistent oversight for the overall financial health and operations of the business ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

  • Assist the Controller with Month End Financial Close.

  • Prepare and process Journal Entries, Account analysis.

  • Prepare Month End Financial Package.

  • Review open WIP material and labor overages and discrepancies, make corrections, adjust budgets, problem solve and put in place corrective actions as determined.

  • WIP Closed Job process. Select jobs to close. Review closed report for discrepancies, resolve and make entries. Run final reports and send in to closing for jobs to be inactivated.

  • Prepare and process monthly Cycle Count for Major equipment, Random, and Copper. Coordinate with teams counting and audit. Research discrepancies, problem solve and put in place corrective actions as determined.

  • Oversee and process van inventory cycle counts, problem solve and put in place corrective actions as determined.

  • Assist with semiannual physical inventory including count audits, paperwork cut offs, etc.

  • Coordinate with the Payroll department on employee leave requests and payroll timecard questions, etc. Review and approve payroll when Controller is unavailable.

  • Review and approve AP payments when Controller is unavailable.

  • Daily Sales reports to management. Create and review overtime reports, Training and warranty labor costs, contact supervisors to resolve issues.

  • Assist in overseeing the operations of the accounting/administrative department. Work with accounting/administrative personnel to give direction on processes and answer questions.

  • Assist Controller with yearly budget forecast - Account analysis.

  • Assistance as needed with AP or AR projects.

  • Look for ways to streamline processes to reduce overhead.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Excellent computer competency is required, including a minimum of 3-year experience Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with exceptional experience in spreadsheet management.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to manage projects and resources.

  • Ability to work overtime with little notice ; weekends hours may occasionally be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4- year college degree with an Accounting / Finance concentration and a minimum of 2 years related experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds frequently

  • Must be able to adhere to long periods of standing, walking or sitting

  • Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other office equipment safely

  • With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception

  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others

  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad

  • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push and pull objects and tools
