Job Title: Production Team Leader
Job Description
The Team Lead is the most important individual on the shop floor, responsible for ensuring all resources are ready for production, all standards are followed, identifying and solving or escalating problems when they occur, training employees, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and motivating team members.
Responsibilities
Production Readiness: Ensure everything is in order for successful production, including trained employees, materials, tooling, machines, documents, and PPE. Step into production as needed to meet objectives.
Standards and Process Confirmation: Ensure processes are followed correctly and standards are maintained. This includes process sequence, quality checks, 5S standards, and material flow standards. Be a subject matter expert on all production processes in the area.
Deviation Management: Responsible for all KPIs in the area, including quality and production output. Collect and report data to the Team Leader, lead shift meetings, find better ways to alert required resources when issues arise, and escalate problems to the team leader when necessary.
Continuous Improvement: Develop standards visualization, conduct waste analysis, observe processes for improvement, use PDCA and simple problem-solving techniques, and optimize layout for material, process, and people flow.
Training: Use Training within Industry (TWI) techniques to train team members. Look for ways to increase team members' knowledge and skills. Engage and motivate team members.
Essential Skills
Production lead or leadership qualities (e.g., military experience)
Manufacturing experience
Machine operating
Quality inspection and documentation
CNC operation
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing industry
Strong supervision skills
Knowledge in continuous improvement methods

Work Environment
This role is in a manufacturing environment, specifically on the 2nd shift from 2pm-10:30pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
