Job Description

This company is a well-known automotive supplier that brings together expertise in electronics, clean mobility, lighting, interiors, and lifecycle change to drive innovation in the automotive industry. At this specific site, they manufacture all tooling and weld equipment for North American plants. The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and implementing electrical control systems for various machinery and equipment. Additional responsibilities are listed below:

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical control systems.

  • Modify and program PLCs.

  • Design and build control cabinets for unassembled machinery.

  • Travel to other company sites for integration and installation of control systems.

  • Identify and suggest appropriate electrical motors and power supplies.

  • Work within ethernet communications, such as DeviceNet, Profinet, and Profibus.

  • Integrate safety PLCs and safe I/O.

  • Understand and adhere to OSHA requirements and safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional controls engineering experience.

  • Proficiency in PLCs (RsLogix500 and RsLogix5000).

  • Experience with control system design.

  • Proficiency with ethernet networking (Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet).
