Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Manages the McCauley production facility Quality System in accordance with the ISO9001 Quality System Manual. Supervises the activities of inspectors performing manufacturing processes.Provides leadership that is committed to quality assurance, continuous improvement of the quality systems, and quality of the product.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assumes a leadership role in quality management by reviewing the current status of Quality, selecting Quality Improvement objectives, setting priorities on specific quality projects, organizing improvement teams, initiating training programs, including quality measures, and allotting personal time for hands-on leadership.

  • Reports actual or potential deviations from the technical quality standards to the Plant Manager.

  • Reviews and coordinates actions on any “Complaint or Non-Conformity Report.” Responsible for development and management of QRB processes that ensure visibility and actions for key quality issues.

  • Provides monthly reports to the Plant Manager on the performance of the Quality System for purposes of review and as a basis for improvement of the Quality System.

  • Develops a documented organizational structure that is appropriate for its size, goals and technical requirements. All key functions within the organization shall be filled to support an appropriate cost-effective arrangement of appraisal, prevention and rework reduction programs.

  • The utilization of established company, functional organization and departmental goals and objectives will be incorporated within the communication and will be clearly established.

  • Educates, trains, develops, and assures individual and group functions have been appropriately skilled in the performance of their job responsibilities. Job responsibilities and personnel development should be appraised on a regular basis.

  • Demonstrates continuous concern for health, safety, and work area environment. Individuals working in areas restricted for safety reasons should be in compliance with safety requirements at all times.

  • Understands customer requirements (internal and external), and continuously strives towards customer satisfaction through a clear understanding of the customer needed balanced with process understanding and process capabilities.

  • Assures all FAA and DoD quality requirements are met including approval of Cessna procedure manuals. Directs adherence to approved procedures and specifications.

  • Supports periodic capital, manpower and operating budgets and forecasts for quarterly, annual or five-year programs; administers approved budgets.

  • Communicates Quality system requirements, product and process acceptance criteria, and work with functional groups to define any changes for the betterment of all parties. This will be accomplished through procedural and guideline changes, which will be agreed-to and will be reflected in revised documentation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum 10 years of Quality experience required

  • Leadership experience required

  • Working knowledge of FAA requirements

  • Experience in production or manufacturing preferred

  • Prior inspection or production experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must be a self-starter with strong planning, organizational, written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.

  • Requires the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, analyze situations objectively and make sound decisions, and interpret budgets and finance data.

  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills as well as solid computer skills are required.
