In Logistics, we support our company’s purpose by ensuring we have exactly what our consumers and patients need when they need it. This critically important role is responsible for leadership of distribution center operations and transportation for the East Region of logistics, including multiple facilities.

This role will develop and implement strategies that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the distribution operations to include P&L performance, store service, inventory optimization, productivity, quality and safety. Strong collaboration with Retail leaders in Store Operations, Inventory and Merchandising to develop and implement strategies that drive sales, margin, inventory optimization and service to our customers will help to continue to position our company as a preferred retailer and important part of our customers’ daily lives.

You will make an impact by:

  • Identify opportunities, develop strategies, present recommendations, and implement programs that will bring distribution center operational effectiveness to new heights. This includes but is not limited to process improvements, technology enhancement, change management and training.

  • Strategically partner across the Retail Enterprise with the SVPs and VPs in Store Operations, the leadership in Merchandising and Inventory to identify opportunities, present recommendations and implement plans that will enhance store service, optimize in store processes and workflow and drive sales. Serve as a subject matter expert for distribution, and a tireless partner in enhancing customers’ interactions with our stores and pharmacies.

  • Leveraging operational expertise, identify and implement capital projects that address the needs of the business such as capacity, technology, material handling and productivity.

  • Create new and enhance existing leadership development, succession planning and engagement programs for the organization to ensure we have the appropriate level of talent to support current and future needs of the organization. Develop and mentor the next generation of exceptional leadership talent for our growing organization.

  • Operating with strong business acumen, hold accountability for overall P&L for the eastern half of our distribution network.

  • Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

Requirements:

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in either logistics or other related retail operations leadership.

  • Demonstrated track record of successful leadership in a logistics or supply chain role in a multi-facility, SKU-intensive environment. Relevant sectors include retail, healthcare, CPG, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals or other related Retail Operations experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and break down highly complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time. Track record of proactively tackling issues in a decisive manner, while keeping broader organizational dynamics in mind.

  • Demonstrated abilities to perform under pressure, adapt to changing dynamics, and find solutions that satisfy multiple ‘customers’ of the business.

  • Track record of building high performing teams and developing key talent. Demonstrated passion for bringing new leaders along and helping them to realize their ability to impact the business.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization, up to and including the President of Retail and CEO. Demonstrated comfort tailoring messaging to different audiences, combining executive presence with ability to relate to hourly workforce.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across different business functions, different perspectives, and different styles of leadership.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree Required, Advanced degree Preferred
