Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Quality Engineer in Columbia, MO.

Job Description: This position supports and verifies the quality of Columbia plant manufacturing operations. In fulfilling this role, this position has responsibility for the following job duties: Lead problem solving regarding internal and external customer using root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventative actions, and driving continuous improvement; Lead review, development, and implementation of PFMEA, process control plans, and poka-yoke and Jidoka opportunities; Lead continuous process improvement impacting customer returns, scrap, and first-time throughput; Interface with external customers regarding product concerns, responsible for investigations, customer follow-up, and ultimate customer satisfaction; Interact regularly with customers to better understand their expectations and concerns; Interface heavily with Technical Antennas, manufacturing hourly and salaried support personnel, and external corporate engineering, quality, and supplier quality resources; Support new product introductions and supplier development activities relating to Columbia components; and Benchmark with other Schneider entities to align and deploy projects utilizing digital technology in the process robustness.

Requirements: Position requires Bachelor's or Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field, including experience (1 year with Master's or 3 years with Bachelor's) in manufacturing quality, manufacturing engineering, or related, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies (8D, Six Sigma) and Lean tools (VSM, 5S, Spaghetti Diagram, process flow diagrams, Kaizen, 5Why, fishbone); Completing engineering projects which lead to scrap reduction; Using SAP to understand BOM, routings, and production version; Improving process robustness through PFMEA methodologies; Integrating controls using Vision Systems and DC drivers for RPN reduction projects; Interpreting engineering drawings; and Working with manufacturing floor personnel to improve manufacturing processes.
