JOB SUMMARY

As the AGV Technician in a fast-paced, world class, Italian Meats processing facility you will maintain, troubleshoot and operate our Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) and manage the movement of all AGVs through the facility. This position will require oversight of a team of technicians, in addition to working with all levels of the maintenance, production and management personnel for/during optimization, troubleshooting, modification, installation, and repair of plant equipment and processes.

Possess the ability to work without direct supervision to perform all other tasks/duties as assigned or required by the maintenance management team.

Range of pay starts at $23.00 per hour for Attendants to $27.50 for Level 2 Technicians

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the operation of the AGV fleet and associated systems

• Monitors movement of AGVs ensuring predetermined schedules are met

• Oversees ad hoc AGV movements and deliveries to correct end users

• Trouble shoots and solves operational problems related to the AGV service

• Assists in maintaining spare parts and consumables for the AGVs

• Assists with the management of maintenance of the AGV system

• Ensures up to date knowledge on safety innovation

• Ensures that the AGV systems communicates with other relevant systems e.g. building management systems including fire systems, lift interfaces and door interfaces

• Monitor of portable medical gases on all wards and departments

• Raises fault reports/work orders to instigate AGV third party vendor

• Maintains effective work output and provides support with all work groups

• Controls and manages operational workflows through the use of personal hand-held devices and portable or desktop computers

• Cleans and visually inspects AGVs

• Liaises closely with AGV suppliers including Services dependent on the AGV service

• Actively reviews and upholds security and safety measures

• Assists in the provision of training for hospital users on how to interact with AGVs.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate or technical degree preferred

• Ability to adhere to a Tuesday – Saturday work schedule, which may change as business demands

• Demonstrated experience in the use of hand-held devices and/or smart phone technology

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of automated equipment and ICT.

• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels

• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using formal techniques to evaluate systems, equipment and processes

• Ability to read, write, and speak in English

• Well-developed problem-solving skills including conceptual and analytical ability

• Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts is required

• Noise level in the work areas can be loud

• Will be regularly exposed to chemicals used in the plant and for maintenance processes

• Plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold (non-weather related), and working near moving mechanical parts

• Food manufacturing operations environment
