Our federal client is seeking a DevOps Specialist to join their team. This is a W2 contract and will be a hybrid schedule in Columbia, MD. Given the nature of the work, this role does require already possessing an ACTIVE Secret clearance.

Location: Columbia, MD
Pay Range: $55-$57/hr
What’s the Job?
overseeing and optimizing the entire software development lifecycle, from development to deployment and maintenance. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management:
Provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred)
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet
Manage and maintain containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
Application Deployment & Monitoring:
Deploy and manage applications built with Java Spring Boot 2.0 framework, SQL databases, and React/CSS/HTML/JavaScript front-end
Implement and maintain application monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
Troubleshoot and resolve deployment and runtime issues
Security & Compliance:
Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., OWASP, ISO 27001)
Conduct security audits and penetration testing
Manage and maintain encryption and access control mechanisms
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate effectively with development, operations, and security teams
Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of our development and deployment processes
Stay up-to-date on the latest DevOps technologies and best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash)
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps)
Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
Experience with Java Spring Boot 2.0 framework, SQL databases, and React/CSS/HTML/JavaScript front-end is a plus
