Amergis Assistant Controller/Finance Operations Manager - Sunburst in Columbia, Maryland

The Assistant Controller - Sunburst reports to the Director, Business Intelligence & Finance, holding responsibility for overseeing financial reporting and processes for Sunburst, controlling the supply chain & supplier onboarding processes, and facilitates the contract process with new and existing clients.

The Assistant Controller - Sunburst promotes an environment of support to drive team members and field development by maintaining clear communication around the Company’s strategic vision and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Involved in various financial components of the business, including business process improvement, forecasting, budget analysis, cost controls, and other financial reporting

  • Partners with the Sr. Program Manager – Supply Chain and the Business Operations Analyst to facilitate supplier onboarding and participation for programs under the Sunburst portfolio

  • Actively involved in the operational and financial components of Request for Proposals (RFP) and Contracts process

  • Acts a liaison, on behalf of the Business Development and Program Management teams, with the various corporate departments, including Purchasing, Payroll, Contracts, Legal, Accounts Payable, Tax, Revenue Cycle, etc.

  • Reviews expenses and other financial statements/reporting

  • Provides education and customer service to all internal Sunburst Team Members, support departments, clients and staffing suppliers

  • Responsible for the training and continued development of direct reports, as necessary

  • Establishes open communication and invests in the vision of team success

  • Adheres to all internal policies and procedures

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience as a supervisor preferred; preferably in healthcare, staffing, managed service provider (MSP) or finance industries

  • MBA preferred but not required

  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), required

  • Microsoft Power BI experience a plus

  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, leadership, clients, supplier partners and other pertinent personnel

  • Must be available to travel for occasional off-site meetings

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
