Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant position based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is within the telecom provider industry and involves handling daily accounting tasks, ensuring payments, and assisting with audit research.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all daily accounting tasks, including maintaining the general ledger and preparing journal entries.

• Ensure timely payment of bills and dispatch of invoices.

• Assist with Medicaid and VA billing.

• Conduct weekly bank reconciliations for one primary and three investment accounts.

• Manage approximately 20-30 journal entries for month-end and bank statements with a close of roughly 8-10 days on a calendar year.

• Assist with audit research as necessary.

• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite and Oracle to perform duties.

• Assist in pre-payroll review.

• Oversee the processing of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Ensure the completion of monthly close procedures. Requirements • Proven experience as a Staff Accountant

• Proficiency in NetSuite and Oracle

• Familiarity with financial accounting statements

• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Proficiency in journal entries and bank reconciliations

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field

• Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred.
