The JTAGS program is looking for a senior principal cybersecurity analyst to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. If you are a hardworking, self-driven individual with the ability to solve complex technical issues, this position is for you!

As a Senior Principal Cybersecurity Analyst for the JTAGS program, you will play a pivotal role in building and sustaining the robust cybersecurity posture of the program’s classified systems and networks used for development, integration, test, training, and operations. This is a senior-level individual technical contributor position with a specific focus on the JTAGS systems’ implementation and maintenance of the Trellix ePO v5. 10 DoD Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) platform, as well as potential future migration to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. You will also contribute to other cybersecurity activities, including compliance auditing, POA&M development, vulnerability assessments, patch management, and DISA STIG application. You will get to:

  • Perform ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) administration duties for all Trellix products, such as Trellix content updates, DAT file updates, policy creation/modification, and Client Tasks

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the program’s junior to mid-level cybersecurity analysts

  • Perform compliance audits and vulnerability assessments of systems and networks

  • Work with Systems Administrators to apply DISA STIGs and troubleshoot incomplete or failed scans

  • Support ongoing and future sustainment and engineering development efforts, including but not limited to potential ESS replacement with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, system design changes, OS upgrades, customer cybersecurity assessments, and Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation efforts

This role is full-time and in-person at the COCO-01 Northrop Grumman facility in a classified closed area environment (note: remote work is available on an as-needed, limited basis to support family obligations, appointments, etc.). Duties will require weekly support at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, CO (about 15-20 mins drive from the NG facility).

Travel is not anticipated for this role, but openness to potential future OCONUS travel assignments is preferred. Note: a non-expired passport is preferred but not required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 9 years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree with 7 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of relevant cybersecurity experience may be considered in lieu of a STEM degree.

  • Possesses active IAT Level II (CompTIA Sec+) at minimum

  • Possesses Active SECRET clearance

  • Has strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical issues into plainspoken business language for program stakeholders

  • Has excellent attention to detail coupled with the ability to identify and communicate “big picture” impacts, dependencies, and risks/opportunities to the system, program, or customer

  • Can compile and maintain an organized repository of helpful knowledge, processes, and procedures to benefit other team members

  • Possesses intermediate to advanced skillset in RHEL OS command line and Windows Command Shell and/or PowerShell

  • Possesses advanced skillset with Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS)

  • Has completed and applied knowledge of DoD provided ESS trainings: 201 Administrator ePO version 5.10, 301 Advanced Administrator ePO version 5.10, and 501 Analyst ePO version 5.10

  • Has strong experience and knowledge of Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) Administration, including investigation and troubleshooting of issues during product installation and updates

  • Has strong experience and knowledge in creating and modifying ePO Policies and Client Tasks for all Trellix Products (e.g., Threat Protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Solidcore, etc.)

  • Has strong experience and knowledge in deployment of Trellix DAT, Content, and Product Updates

  • Has experience scanning, remediating, mitigating, and reporting cybersecurity vulnerabilities discovered through use of audit reduction tools and/or the DISA Automated Security Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool or Tenable NESSUS

  • Possesses a working knowledge and experience with NIST RMF, including SP 800-53 controls

  • Has experience identifying & applying DISA STIGs/hardening systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has experience with the USSF ATO process, including the Security Impact Assessment (SIA) process

  • Has experience supporting or performing system cybersecurity assessments

  • Has experience developing Ports, Protocols, and Services Matrix (PPSM) IAW DoD Instruction 8551.01

  • Possesses intermediate to advanced skillset with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on a DoD-owned network or system that includes Windows and RHEL OS devices. Can successfully lead a program through transition from Trellix to Microsoft Defender without compromising system compliance, vulnerability mitigations, and system Authority to Operate (ATO).

  • Has past experience with missile warning satellite ground system(s)

  • Has past defense contractor experience supporting USSF development or sustainment program(s)

  • Has working knowledge and/or experience with JIRA for task assignment, status tracking, and execution

  • Has past cybersecurity or systems administration experience for both bare metal and virtual machines (VMs)

  • Has experience in POA&M development and management for eMASS

  • Possesses working knowledge and experience with Splunk

  • Has experience with Xylok or other automated STIG scanning tools

  • Certified Scrum Master or Agile certifications

  • Has experience implementing DevSecOps practices and principles

  • Has an active passport and is willing to travel (note: travel is not anticipated, but openness is preferred)

Salary Range: $121,000 - $181,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
