Amentum Senior Technical Writer - NISSC II in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Our NORAD Operations Group
Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).
Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:
• Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
• Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
• Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
• Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
• Software development and integration.
NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:
• Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
• Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
• Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
• Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
• Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world
Description of Duties:
The Senior Technical Writer supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:
• Coordinate/monitor for compliance with contract objectives a wide variety of complex administrative programs and projects.
• Conducts study in procedural matters and administrative problems; involves investigations and administrative research within a wide area of responsibilities.
• Determines, maintains, and revises priorities for others to meet contract objectives. Researches, compiles, prepares, and distributes a wide range of information.
• Ensures documentation is consistent with precedents and defensible with the law and regulations.
• Provides advisory services for administrative operations of the company.
• Furnishes analysis, appraisals, recommendations, and comments on operations.
• Ensures that costs charged to contracts conform to terms and applicable regulations. Interprets directives from the customer, both internal and external, and provides direction, coordination, and monitoring for implementation.
• Recommends revisions to and new policies and implements appropriate administrative procedures which will provide maximum efficiency.
• Serves on a variety of committees, panels, or investigative teams to resolve administrative problems.
• Prepare, coordinate, consolidate and prepare artifacts IAW DoD/DID standards and/or corporate templates and requirements for Review.
• Participates in planning and design of artifacts (both internal and CDRL based; templates and content).
• Coordinates review, publication, and delivery of contract artifacts.
• Attend and participate in periodic large scale Agile planning events.
• Support standard Agile ritual meetings (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives) as necessary and assist Scrum teams in execution of Sprints.
The successful candidate will:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
This position will be filled and work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO

Basic Requirements:
• Clearance Requirements: Active Secret Clearance
• 3 years or more of directly related experience
• 5 years or more of general work experience
• Experience in production and delivery of documents and artifacts IAW DoD/DID standards and/or corporate templates and requirements.
• Experience with the following Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and FrameMaker
• Experience with coordinating and integrating of content from various Stakeholders.
• Experience with ownership of assigned documents and artifacts from beginning to end.
Desired Requirements:
• Experience working on NISSC II Products/Applications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
This position is expected to pay $90,000 - $100,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
