Position Overview

As a Quality Technician, you will provide material testing at our designated Hot Plant to ensure that our products meets the Standard Specifications and the Project Agreement.

District Overview

Kiewit’s Central District is one of our largest infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, structural concrete/bridge, water/wastewater, and transportation projects. We self-perform work such as mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more - so be ready to get your hands dirty! While headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the majority of our work is concentrated in the Central and South-Central regions of the United States. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry rather than design.

Colorado Springs & surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on aggregates, and asphalt, for material properties for conformance to requirements.

• Support team members in their roles as a program focal point for quality control, acting as a liaison with other functional departments.

• Develop a thorough understanding of the Hot Plant and schedule as they relate to his/her specific assignment.

• Examine/inspect materials and identify problems.

• Assist with identifying and reporting non-conforming issue.

• Other responsibilities or initiatives asked by management to support the plant operations.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills

• Working knowledge of the specific trade of discipline (i.e. civil, structural, electrical) as assigned, with associated special processes, inspection, and testing techniques preferred

• Working knowledge of construction industry

• Must have testing certifications OR have had in the past, testing certifications issued from ACI, WAQTC, LABCAT, PCI, NEC, or NICET and proficiency in CDOT Tests Methods or ability to obtain in 3 months.

• Equivalent certifications from other states welcome.

• Ability to gain additional certifications to support project testing and inspection

• Capability to work extended construction hours during high seasons

• Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.

• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

• May work at various different locations and conditions may vary

Base Compensation: $40,339 - $47,840

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
