COLSA Corporation Ground Based Space Surveillance RADAR Analyst in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Job Description:

Our test team is searching for new members that can help us conduct command and control testing on missile warning and space defense systems. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment, learning new mission areas, this is the place for you. We provide a number of opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses for unique technology areas.

This position provides support to the 45th Test Squadron Space and Intel Flight at Eglin AFB, FL with the work location and office at Peterson SFB, CO. This position does require in-office work. Tests schedule is typically 1-2 weeks per month but varies. This support includes the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides test engineer support and frequently serves as a technical advisor encompassing the Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR), Cobra Dane, PARCS, among others such as Combatant Commanders Integrated Command and Control System (CCIC2S) Missile Warning, for the BMEWS/Pave Paws mission systems, Space Directed Energy Deconfliction (DECON), and other Space Command and Control (C2) systems encompassing the whole Space Domain Awareness (SDA) test portfolio

  • Conducts data analysis and applies knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff. These tasks include test and evaluation, test support, logistics, sustainment, operations analyses, technical studies, and various analyses and support activities including program and system security.

  • Assists in the development of system requirements, performance measures, test phase entry/exit criteria, and analysis of design constraints functional capabilities, and metrics.

  • Supports DT&E, Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) and certification for test readiness; identifies deficiencies, verifies compliance with specifications and standards, and assesses stability of various system configurations.

  • Supports senior engineers when interacting with System Program Offices, other services, and developmental contractors.

  • Prepares, executes, reviews, and analyzes test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the software development life cycle. Develops and writes methods of test, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), test cases, test objectives/procedures, letter reports, analysis and review of requirements, and other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.

  • Coordinates schedules, pre-and post-test activities, logistics of test planning, and test results.

  • Travels up to 30 percent of time to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations (OCONUS and CONUS).

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Qualifications:

One of the following combinations of education and experience:

+ + Bachelor's degree in a technical field and a minimum of 0-5 years of applicable technical experience

  • Associate's degree in a technical field and a minimum of 4-9 years of applicable technical experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8-13 years of applicable technical experience

  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Fortran, Java, Python, C/C++), or with software development.

  • Effective oral and written communications skills.

  • Proficiency in the use and integration of MS Office applications.

  • Minimum of an interim DoD Secret Security clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with analyzing Ground Based RADAR (GBR) data to validate requirements

  • Ability to understand GBRs processing and develop scenarios to validate them.

  • Ability to interface with prime contractors developing the system under test (SUT) regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and to lead and direct the work of others.

  • Knowledge of, or experience with Air Force and Space Force Testing or other DoD test agency concepts, procedures and methodologies.

  • Experience related to DOD C4ISR system acquisition, systems engineering, and test engineering.

  • Experience interfacing with developmental contractors regarding test objectives, schedules, budgets, and methods of test.

  • Experience with CAMEO Process Modeling.

  • A current and active Top Secret Security Clearance with Special Compartmented Information (SCI) access is preferred.
