Job Title: Grant Writer
FLSA Status: Full Time - exemptReports to: Community Relations Directors and Corps Offices
Schedule: 40hr/week
Rate of Pay: $62,400-$70,720 annually
Closing Date: 1/6/2024

Function:
Working in the Development team of El Paso County and Divisional Headquarters the Grant Writer will write all grants we currently receive on a regular basis ensuring that we are up to date. The Grant Writer will work with the finance team for the budgets they submit and with department heads for the program narratives, outcomes, and other supporting information.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Research and identify funding opportunities from public and private foundations, corporate foundations, and governmental agencies.
Review all Government grant opportunities with the Executive team or CRD to determine how we would proceed.
Fill out all interim grant submission request forms through TSAMM and grant portal as needed.
Collaborate with Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) on grants.
Be the primary grant writer for the El Paso County Corps.
Develop and maintain a divisional database/calendar for grant submissions and reports.
Prepare grant contracts and agreements for CFC approval through TSAMM.
Develop grant progress and final reports with the assistance of finance.
Ensure that reports are generated on a timely basis for all grants received throughout the corps.
Develop professional/working relationships with grantors.
Attend networking events and visit other foundations with the CRD or County Coordinators.
Attend Foundation, grant writing, and other fundraising workshops both internal and external.
Head up the ‘Staff Grant Writing Team” to develop approved staff members for grant writing for up to $10,000.
Other duties as assigned.

Attend all staff meetings as assigned.

Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications
Education/Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field
3 + Years of experience in successful grant writing.
Skills
Work independently with little or no supervision.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Follow all policies and procedures
Ability to access and produce information from a computer
Participate in training as required
Facilitate life skill courses
Ability to network and make appropriate referrals
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with people from diverse populations
Ability to read and write in the English language
Ability to file, do data entry and have basic clerical skills
Ability to handle high levels of stress effectively in a busy environment
Ability to multitask and possess strong interpersonal skills
Microsoft Word , Outlook, and Excel knowledge required
Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.
Ability to learn new software
Must be minimally 21 years of age and possessing a valid in-state Driver's License
Background Check
Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
