JOB SUMMARY: The Floor Technician will perform all types of floor care as outlined in the contract statement of work. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Floor Upkeep and Maintenance: * The Floor Technician will perform all work as prescribed in the statement of work for each contract. In addition, the incumbent will know how to manage an area (amount of floor that can be finished within specified timeframe), use machines properly, clean/maintain machines and know how to use chemicals. The Floor Technician will also train assigned personnel on the use of the various equipment. Supply Management: * The Floor Technician will conduct a physical inventory of Floor Care Supplies on a weekly basis and submit it to the Supervisor/Site Manager. Relationship Management: * The Floor Technician will keep the Supervisor/Site Manager informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information; maintain open communication at all times in relationship with other supervisors, work leaders and customers. In addition, the incumbent will deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines and assist with Janitorial duties as necessary. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience: * Experience or knowledge of basic mechanics required. * It is preferred that the incumbent have knowledge of floor care and types of floors. Other: * Pre safety precautions due to handling chemicals, machinery, etc. the incumbent be at least 18 years old. * Demonstrate the ability to work with various types of internal and external customers including working with persons with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions. * The incumbent must be neat in appearance with appropriate hygiene, grooming, and dress for the job. * A valid Colorado driver's license without a history of violations is required, with the ability to travel in personal vehicle with necessary insurance. * Some overtime required with the ability to work some weekends and/or holidays and work flexible shifts. * Able to lift, bend, stoop walk and stand for extended periods of time. *Per contract requirements with vehicle insurance provider: Qualified candidates must be 21 years of age and have no major traffic violations for previous 3 years (for driving/insurance purposes). Must have reliable transportation; must also be able to operate company vehicle. *13.2 Background checks are required by Utilities for specific projects, it is the responsibility of Contractor to conduct a 7 year criminal background check on each employee working on a project and forward the results to the designated Utilities' representative. A 3rd party vendor shall conduct these checks. Endorsed vendors are Background Information Services (www.bsi.com), S2 Verify (www.s2verify.com), or Hire Right (www.hireright.com). The minimum acceptable background checks required by Utilities are comprised of a 7 year Statement of History (encompassing full name, alias used, residences, education, employment, citizenship, and military history), a Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) record check, a National Criminal check, and a National Sex offender check. The designated Utilities' representative will forward all the required documents of the background check listed above to the Security Planning & Compliance team for review. A minimum of ten (10) days must be allowed before an employee may report to work after submitting a background check.
