Salary Range: 130000-170000

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cybersecurity Lead to oversee the design, implementation, and management of cybersecurity solutions for the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Enterprise OPIR Solution (EOS) contract. This role involves leading a team to ensure the system meets strict security requirements, complies with DoD standards, and maintains operational readiness against evolving threats. The Cybersecurity Lead will act as the primary point of contact for all cybersecurity matters, working closely with engineering teams, program leadership, and customer stakeholders.

Please note: This position is contingent upon successful capture of the FORGE EOS contract.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cybersecurity Leadership:

  • Lead the development and execution of the program’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring compliance with DoD standards such as RMF and NIST 800-53

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of cybersecurity professionals, guiding secure design, implementation, and validation of the system

  • Act as the primary liaison for cybersecurity-related communications with program management and customer stakeholders

  • System Security Architecture:

  • Design and maintain the cybersecurity architecture for the FORGE Framework (FF), ensuring alignment with operational and mission requirements

  • Oversee the integration of security controls into the system design, covering hardware, software, and network components

  • Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies

  • Compliance and Accreditation:

  • Manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process to obtain and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) for the system

  • Prepare and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and other required accreditation documentation

  • Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and remediation activities to ensure system compliance

  • Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, and test teams to integrate security measures into all phases of the system lifecycle

  • Participate in program reviews, providing cybersecurity expertise and recommendations

  • Interface with customer stakeholders to address security concerns and ensure satisfaction with the cybersecurity posture

  • Continuous Improvement and Training:

  • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, tools, and technologies to ensure the system remains resilient against evolving risks

  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, including leadership positions on DoD aerospace programs

  • Deep understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, DISA STIGs, and NIST 800-53

  • Proficiency in security tools such as Nessus, Splunk, or Fortify, and knowledge of secure coding practices

  • Experience managing accreditation processes and achieving ATO for complex systems

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CSSLP

  • Experience with satellite ground systems cybersecurity

  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies

  • Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area

    Education/Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred

    Clearance Requirement

    Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
